A Solar Panel Or Two: More Energy For You

Intelligent people working on alternative energies often look for ways to harness new kinds of energy. Meanwhile, with a solar panel they can simply use what has always been there. This is a fuel source long-used by societies before they had electricity. It dried their clothes, dehydrated their food. Now it can even power your car.

As consumers demand ways be found to stop mining for fossil fuels which pollute the earth, they turn increasingly to solar power. Its benefits are simple, and often harnessed without special equipment. Many people continue to dry food and clothes this way. They rely on the sun to bleach garments clean of stains and bacteria. When they can erect panels to get even more power, it feels better to run a hot shower, computer or the air conditioning knowing their carbon footprint will be small.

It really all depends on what kind of solar panel you have in mind: this will determine the sort of energy you produce. PV power refers to electrical energy converted from panels. A collector will take solar heat and use it to create hot water or heat a home.

Panels of the first kind face few challenges. One is where to put them. The roof of a structure makes the logical choice where there is little or nothing to block access to sun rays through the middle of the day. Where tree coverage is too dense, often a pole works well. Some users will mount their panels on the ground in wide, open spaces.

These kinds have been cropping up in various sizes to power many things. Everything from an entire hotel to a small toy might run on just this one source of fuel. Boats, even experimental cars will also be seen sporting small panels.

To use solar electricity both by day and night, consumers require two things. One is an inverter, since the sun provides DC power. Your appliances operate on AC power. A battery bank will enable a customer to use these appliances during the night.

Collectors are considered more efficient. They rely less on direct sunlight. Collectors just need the sun to be out in full force.

Major considerations pertain to insulation. This is your way of heating water for hot showers, dishes and climate control. From collector to water supply there needs to be as short a distance as possible or very well insulated pipes. Ideally, the consumer will have both, otherwise he or she risks losing too much heat along the way.

The latest products move with the sun without a human hand having to touch them. Computer programs work out how many hours of sun to expect and what direction it will come from. Wheeled panels are set-up to move and follow their source of energy throughout the day and the year.

It seems ironic in light of their current use, but solar devices have existed for decades. They have powered our hand held calculators. Other affordable forms have included beautiful and decorative garden lighting, which absorbs light through the day to work at night. Really, major changes have to do with how much can be done; ways to enable societies to move away from damaging fuels to clean power.

Solar panel is a thing that many individuals are looking at in order to save money. We would like to tell you about photovoltaics, if you let us.
