Charlotte Real Estate Keeps Pressing On

There are not many better home locations in America than Charlotte, NC. A county seat in Mecklenburg, Charlotte real estate prices did not descend in the late 2000s.

The climate is that of the “humid subtropical” and has temperature from the 32 degrees Fahrenheit to 90 degrees fahrenheit. The area sees a few inches of snowfall each year.

The 20th largest public school system in the country can be found in Charlotte. And Charlotte is home to a ton of institutions of higher education, like Johnson & Wales University.

If you need to commute, your options in Charlotte are plentiful. By the year 2030, there will be a huge light rail setup. The airport in Charlotte, Charlotte Douglas International Airport, serves over a million people every year. For long distance ground travel, you can take the Amtrak to any of the nearby cities.

Sports teams comprise the ultimate reason to relocate to Charlotte. Since 1995, the Carolina Panthers have been playing in Charlotte and even played in a Super Bowl. There is a new basketball team since 2004 owned by Michael Jordan that has its home court at Time Warner Cable Arena. And most recently, a hockey team called the Charlotte Checkers is in town. The Charlotte Checkers haven’t won anything yet.

The Charlotte Area doesn’t have any known flaws. Charlotte mortgage rates fluctuated down to historic lows in January 2010. The cause of this was twofold: the economy was terrible, and the layoffs were so frequent, that after a while rates bottomed at 3.9%

If you are religious, you’ll be right at home in Charlotte. The Reverend Billy Graham grew up there in the “City of Churches.” There used to be many church goers, and even though their numbers are being shrunk by the huge influx of people to the city, many, many protestants are still present there. The boom in the last few years has grown the group associating with Islam, Judaism, Catholicism, and Greek Orthodoxy.

Charlotte was founded by settlers who had moved from Richmond, Virginia in 1780 and was a major hub of the eastern United states by the turn of the century. Shortly after that, the city was affected by the war of 1812, and the Civil War. Charlotte has been the subject of many movies and a few tv shows.
