At one time Mesa, Arizona was an excellent city to call home. Residents enjoyed living there due to the hot and dry weather, and its proximity to nature including the Grand Canyon. They also liked the fact that it is located close to Las Vegas and Mexico, and to many other great cities. Overall, Mesa was an excellent choice for retirees and other people who enjoy warm weather. But, that was all before the real estate market crashed and housing prices fell.

Mesa’s property values are well below what they were in recent history. Many people are completely upside down between what they owe and what they can now sell their home for. Thus, homes are not a very good investment. Due to these combined factors, the numbers of homes that have been repossessed or foreclosed upon is astronomical. Some people have literally walked off from homes they purchased. Some people let their homes fall into foreclosed status because they knew they could never recoup their investment so there was no point in pouring even more money into it.

Whether or not this is the right move to make, homeowners are basically leaving behind their homes. In many cases, these people have lived in Mesa for many years and are now having to find new places to go. After people realize they can no longer make money on their house, they are starting to make decisions about foreclosure and repossession that have never been made before, even when the Great Depression was in full force.

Thus, someone who is in a position to buy is at a tremendous advantage because there are many amazing homes for a song. This is beyond any buyer’s market in the country you’ve ever seen. If you are ready to buy, you can name your price and get virtually home you would like.

Arizona is in dire straights where the real estate market is concerned and there is no sign of it improving at any point in the near future.
